10th & Wolf (2006)

10th Wolf is a 2006 American crime thriller directed by Oscar winning writer Robert Moresco, the mind behind Best Picture winner Crash. Inspired by real events tied to undercover FBI agent Joseph Pistone, the film follows Tommy (James Marsden), a hardened street kid turned Marine who comes home to South Philadelphia after serving in Operation Desert Storm. The title takes its name from the famous intersection of 10th and Wolf streets in the heart of the city’s Italian neighborhood. Tommy believes he has left his family’s criminal past behind, but when the FBI pressures him into informing on the local mob, and his younger brother Vincent (Brad Renfro) and cousin Joey (Giovanni Ribisi) sink deeper into trouble, he is forced back into a violent underworld of loyalty, honor, and betrayal. With a powerhouse cast that includes Val Kilmer, Dennis Hopper, Brian Dennehy, Piper Perabo, and Lesley Ann Warren, 10th Wolf delivers tension, atmosphere, and classic mafia drama.
