Asian Connection

Asian Connection is a 2016 action crime thriller directed by Daniel Zirilli and starring Steven Seagal, John Edward Lee, Pim Bubear, Byron Gibson and Michael Jai White. Jack Elwell and his partner Sam are American expats living quietly in Thailand, funding that life by slipping across the border into Cambodia and hitting small banks. Their latest job looks like the score of a lifetime, until they learn the money belongs to Gan Sirankiri, a calm and merciless drug lord whose reach runs through every port, police station and back alley in the region. Sirankiri puts his men on the pair and the hunt quickly turns personal. When Sam is killed, Jack is left with nothing but a bag of stolen cash, his girlfriend Avalon, and a decision: spend the rest of his life running, or go after the man who wants him dead. What follows is a chase across Southeast Asia built on shootouts, tense standoffs and brutal close quarters combat, with Michael Jai White turning up as a dangerous fixer known as Greedy Greg. Shot on location in Thailand and Cambodia, Asian Connection runs 90 minutes of straight ahead, no frills action, with Steven Seagal stepping into the villain's shoes for a change.
