The Fabelmans (2022) is Steven Spielberg's most personal film, a coming-of-age drama loosely drawn from his own childhood. It follows Sammy Fabelman (Gabriel LaBelle), a young boy in postwar Arizona and California who is captivated by movies from the moment he sees his first film in a theater. Armed with a camera, Sammy begins turning the world around him into something he can shape and understand.
As his passion for filmmaking grows, Sammy starts to see the truths his family works hard to hide, including the fault lines in his parents' marriage. His free spirited, artistic mother Mitzi (Michelle Williams) and his brilliant, logical father Burt (Paul Dano) pull him in different directions, while family friend Bennie (Seth Rogen) and a visit from his uncle Boris (Judd Hirsch) reveal the cost of choosing art over everything else.
Written by Spielberg and Tony Kushner with a score by John Williams, The Fabelmans is a heartfelt love letter to cinema and family. Stream it now in HD.
