Green Book (2018)

Green Book is a 2018 biographical comedy drama directed by Peter Farrelly and inspired by a remarkable true story. Set in 1962, the film follows Tony Lip Vallelonga (Viggo Mortensen), a tough Italian American bouncer from the Bronx who takes a job driving Dr. Don Shirley (Mahershala Ali), a world class African American pianist, on a concert tour through the Deep South. Armed with the Negro Motorist Green Book, the guide that once helped Black travelers find safe places to stay, the two men set out on a journey filled with humor, tension, and unexpected moments of connection. As they face prejudice and danger together, their differences slowly give way to genuine respect and a lifelong friendship. Praised for the unforgettable performances of Mortensen and Ali, Green Book won three Academy Awards, including Best Picture, Best Original Screenplay, and Best Supporting Actor for Mahershala Ali. Warm, funny, and deeply moving, it is a story about dignity, courage, and the power of understanding across divides. Watch Green Book online now on Tesliya.
